These terms apply when you use the FileTern website and its four browser-based tools.

The service
FileTern provides Merge PDF, Split / Extract PDF, Reorder PDF and Image ↔ PDF without accounts or payment. Processing normally occurs in your browser. The service may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn, but these terms do not remove rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Your responsibilities
Use FileTern only for lawful purposes and only with files you are entitled to process. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer for abuse, probe security, introduce malicious content or infringe another person’s rights. Keep original copies of important files.
Check every result
PDF and image formats can contain complex or unsupported features. Generated files may omit interactive elements, comments, links, bookmarks, attachments, signatures, metadata or other specialised content. You are responsible for opening and checking each result before relying on, sharing, printing, signing or deleting an original.
No professional advice
FileTern is a general file utility. It does not provide legal, financial, medical, engineering or other professional advice, and a generated file is not professional verification of its contents.
Availability and browser limits
FileTern does not impose commercial limits on file count or file size, but browsers and devices have finite memory, processing capacity and supported formats. A large or unusual job may fail. FileTern does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where exclusion is unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to mandatory law, FileTern is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by unsupported file features, or loss that could reasonably have been avoided by keeping and checking originals.
Intellectual property
The FileTern name, branding, interface and original site materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You retain any rights you have in files you process. Using a tool does not transfer ownership of your files to FileTern.
Changes and law
Material changes will be posted with an updated date. These terms are intended to be interpreted under the laws applicable to the FileTern operator and do not override mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
